About Me

My Bio Picture

Hello! Thanks for being here. You might be wondering the same thing I do as I read blogs and often head to the “About You” page…Who am I, and what prompted me to become a blogger?

My name is Wendy Kaczmar. I was born and raised in Arizona but lived in Virginia for just over 30 years. I have traveled cross country twice and visited many places throughout the country, for both business and vacation, throughout the years. I’ve met many interesting and fantastic people along the way. The more I see of the country and its people, the more I love it.

I love to read and, at a very young age, my parents instilled in me the love of history, especially American history. In my youth. I traveled over the Civil War battlefields nursing soldiers with Clara Barton, rode with Paul Revere on his infamous midnight ride, and experienced how to succeed in life despite the odds with Helen Keller. As a teenager, I was introduced to the western author, Louis L’Amour. He could paint the most beautiful pictures of western landscapes with words that I’ve ever read. As an adult, I cannot help but to be moved every time I read Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” discourse, Frederick Douglass’s many stirring speeches, or Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

The opportunity arose to leave my job with the telecommunications company I had been employed with for 22 years, so I took it. I then decided to take a giant leap and completely change direction in life. My objective now is to combine my passion for helping others, love of travel, desire to learn new things and appreciation for this great country into this blog.

I hope that through your visit here you have been able to take a virtual road trip, of sorts, and your day is a bit brighter for it. If you are planning a vacation or even already live in a particular area and are looking for places to visit, I hope my posts can help with that process.

This blog is new (July 2019) so it will take me a little while to get a lot of my data posted, please bear with me. If there are places you are interested in that I have not yet posted about (I have a lot of places yet to visit!!), please let me know, and I will be happy to look at putting it into my plan!
